Ed Harris complained initially about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was useless and demanded to quit. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he threw his hands up. He later decided to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss adjusted the story and gave his character new responsibilities. That change prompted Harris choose to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the character.
