US President Donald Trump has urged Ukraine to hold a new presidential election, saying Volodymyr Zelenskyy should broker a settlement with Russia to end the war.
Trump also pointed the finger at Zelenskyy for rising diesel prices in the United States, warning Kyiv to cease hitting Russian oil refineries he claims will supply American fuel.
The statements came on 10 October 2026, the same day Britain's Prime Minister spoke separately by phone with Zelenskyy, according to the UK government.
